Sharing Saturday

 Katsushiro Otomo

Embarrassingly, it took me until recently to read the Akira comic. When I was younger I really wasn't interested in his work. I think I hadn't been exposed to the connecting artists necessary for me to be able to really appreciate his work. Needless to say he is one of my favorites. At least second or third!

 Kazuo Oga

Oga has painted numerous backgrounds for Ghibli Studios. His watercolors are stunning and I can't help but have the deepest respect for an artist with such a clear vision.

Kite is great. Her characters are so dang lively and full of personality. I've had the pleasure of watching her art grow and she's just getting better and better.

Even when things are super shitty art never lets you down. Thanks art!

I WANT TO HAVE SEX WITH SEXY LADY ROBOTS

I got an idea for a movie comic book book-book video game whatever, about a future where we have androids, and they have a tiny projector on their collar bone that projects realistic faces. And in this world, everyone accepts this as fact, and even though YOU the reader are going to be easily tell what is a robot and what is a person, the people in the world would have a much harder time telling them apart.

And I want to try to explore various human taboos in this context (because sooner or later were going to have realistic robots anyway, and this conversation is going to come up again and again)

You know, the usual: Keeping human-faced robots as slaves, robot on human violence, simulacrum relationships, robo-human marriage, and so on!

But Im a lazy asshole and I am too busy spending my money on stupid shit (like the 2 for 1 couch deal) and I may not get to it. But I just wanted to give the blog a bump. As in, hey sexy robot lady, let me give YOU A BUMP (WITH MY PENIS)

AHHFFFgfffff

I was browsing through the archives in my melancholy and found the post where Sergei drew an eye monster thing based on one of my chicken scratches, haha.

So here's a before bed sketch I did last night. It's interesting incorporating themes and palettes that I never use in my work(pink?!).

Here's some Conjure the Beast progress stuff. The ink makes me wanna hurl myself off a bridge. It smears endlessly. UGH.
Drunk Momo you're great at video games!

KEEP DRAWING ♥

Bot II [wip]

To be less vague:
First, this is simply an excerpt/exercise, I'm not getting crazy and making an actual comic >__>

Elm and Kingdom seek shelter in an underground city to avoid traveling in a severe sandstorm. The city was mostly evacuated because of an earthquake earlier in the story (like chapter 2, these pages take place around chapter 6).
extra unnecessary shit
Kingdom leaves Elm to go scouting because the lower levels are where the arenas + dogs/gladiators were and their trainers are pretty much assholes so only high level doods were taken. Low level and dogs in training were left behind. They're not friendly. And are just kinda creepy. and punch things. cats

I don't always Anime, but when I do...

You know me, I generally don't anime. I find it weird, that people anime all day long by themselves in their rooms. Or go to conventions and weirdly anime with their friends. Sometimes people anime to the point where it becomes illegal and morally wrong.

I admit, when I was young I animed a little. As an adult, I sometimes can't help myself and I'll anime, but I often feel guilty afterwards. Grown men should never anime, yet alone talk about animing.

But I have stumbled on this website that is FANTASTIC. Im sure its no surprise and most of you already knew about this website.

http://manga.clone-army.org/index.php

If not, you should check it out. But not at work, because your coworkers will scorn you for animing at work. Also, be careful when you anime, because there is definitely some loli stuff on this website.

( http://manga.clone-army.org/hh.php?page=23&lang= ) this is how I imagine C.N. animes in her room alone, or maybe with friends, I dont know how you kids anime these days.

Sabotenenenen

JEEPERS. I had a super fun time at Saboten con.

As usual I was distracted

And forgot to get photos of most of my commissions. OOPS. Here's two I did remember:

Highlight was seeing Akira Yamaoka and Mary Elizabeth and Joe Romersa. esatdgbfgbsd not enough words because my love for Silent Hill is straight to the MOON.

 Leetle thiefy C.N ♥

Resident badasses and super sweethearts ♥

Welp

My wrist is also feeling great and I get American Vampire. THIS WEEK CAN'T GET ANY BETTER. Also Phoenix Comic Con table is secured, so that shit is happening.

Painting is for bitches.

Welp. time is going by and I am not doing shit, artwise. Its pretty sad. Working 8-10 hours per day, staring at boring ass illustrator files. I have forsaken our dear leader Kim Jon Christiana. I think that guy had a legitimate reason to hate my and my art, because I was a faker. Or it's a self fulfilling prophecy, that because he though I was a faker, I turned out to be a faker.

But surely and slowly, we'll keep on trying!

ffffffffffffffffffffffff

Oh my shit, the convention kicked my ass but it was so much fun and so humbling and nice and warm fuzzies ahoy ; ;. I got two comic book offers, a story book one and asked to be interviewed (which I declined because I'm a nervous mess whatwhat) I'm so derpy as usual and forgot to photograph most of my commissions.. I was seriously struggling to finish them all on Sunday. LOL. Here is a small fraction of them, ect:

Oh yes! By the way, there is another convention coming up in Tucson at the beginning of November (5th-6th). It's Tucson Comic Con! One of the artists recommended this show to me so it'll be my first time attending and selling at a table there. It is unbelievably cheap if you just wanna attend ($3 for the day or $5 for both days). And I am more than happy to let you guys chill at my table/take commissions/sell prints/pretty much whatever. ♥

Supplies, ect

"Your past creations do not limit nor define your untried future efforts." - C. Goodwin.

Mister Goodwin delivers time and time again. He's one of those people whose work is not only fantastic, prolific, and experimental but someone whose vision is crystal clear. Check 'em out, you might dig, he's a very approachable guy.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Holy shit guys, new semester breathing down our backs! Anyways, I'm about to get a bunch of goodies from blick which is awesome and super cheap compared to the art stores around us. If you guys needed supplies too we could combine orders to save shipping? Just lemme know, if not I'll be eagerly camping out in the mail box for the next week.

How does I be artist

I've been operating in this weird place recently where I don't know which direction I want my artwork to go. I love concept art for it's design, its impact. However, I like work that is simple, clean, full of underlying narrative. But I also like plain details. So many details. Haha.

Drawing is still and probably always will be cathartic to me. Not the picture itself, but the act, I suppose?! I feel like this kind of mindset is more aligned with fine art, which my interest in is minimal.

Anyway, at the end of the day it's up to meeeeeee to decide *flex* Until then, I've just been drawing whatever the fuck I want. No backgrounds? Fuck off. Black borders on everything, yessir! Terrible color combos? My specialty. >:}
